While Garrett Wilson looks to rebound on a disappointing effort and Davante Adams gears up for his second appearance in Green & White, veteran Allen Lazard has run into an injury issue. Lazard missed practice for the second day in a row due to a chest injury

Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich projected Lazard to be a limited participant ahead of Wednesday’s practice, but that has not been the case.

Lazard, who leads the team with five touchdown receptions, is one of five Jets to miss back-to-back practices this week, including starting right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker. On the defensive side, safeties Tony Adams and Ashtyn Davis along with interior lineman Leki Fotu have been sidelined the past two days in Florham Park.

After a disappointing 2023 with the Jets, Lazard has bounced back in Year 2. Having reestablished the strong connection that he and quarterback Aaron Rodgers had together with the Green Bay Packers, the 28-year-old wide receiver has made multiple catches in every one of the first seven games.

For the season thus far, Lazard’s 412 receiving yards rank second only to Wilson. He averages 13.7 yards per reception and has scored touchdowns in four different games

In the Week 3 meeting against the Patriots, Lazard contributed to a 24-3 win by catching all three of his targets for 48 yards and one TD.

In terms of other offensive starters, Rodgers and right tackle Morgan Moses were limited participants on Thursday. Collectively, New York has 15 players listed on this week’s injury report.

The Jets (2-5) visit the Patriots (1-6) for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff on October 27.
