The Broncos celebrated a win over the Saints last Thursday night, moving back over .500 for the season, but a concerning incident that occurred hours later is coming to light.
Broncos WR Josh Reynolds was reportedly sH๏τ after leaving a strip club in Denver early last Friday morning. Reynolds is on IR and did not travel with the team to New Orleans.
Reynolds survived the shooting, but he was hit multiple times and is fortunate his condition wasn’t any worse.
Here are the details to know about the shooting involving Reynolds and his condition.
Josh Reynolds shooting details
Reynolds was sH๏τ in the arm and the back of the head, 9NEWS reported, after he and two other people were allegedly followed from a strip club in Denver at about 3 a.m. local time last Friday morning.
Two individuals were sH๏τ, including Reynolds, while a third person was hit by shattered glᴀss. The shooting occurred while Reynolds was in a car, and there was allegedly no confrontation of any kind at the strip club leading up to the incident.
Two individuals were arrested after video footage showed them following the car Reynolds and the two other victims were inside. One of the individuals arrested told police he was “helping” a friend by following Reynolds and the two other victims, but he denied ever firing the sH๏τs.
The Broncos released a statement confirming the news Thursday, explaining Reynolds “received treatment for minor injuries.”
Fortunately, Reynolds is already out of the hospital and was at the Broncos’ practice facility on Thursday.
Reynolds was active for the first five games of the Broncos’ season, totaling 183 yards and a touchdown in a pᴀssing game that struggled to get going early on, but he was placed on IR earlier in October with a broken finger. It’s unclear whether the shooting will affect his timeline to return.
Reynolds started his career with the Rams and spent the last two-and-a-half seasons with the Lions before joining the Broncos this past offseason.
A fourth-round pick out of Texas A&M in 2017, Reynolds has 3,116 yards and 20 touchdowns over eight seasons in the NFL.
