The effort of Giants cornerback Deonte Banks can be called into question when he showed no interest in tackling Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts on a scramble in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 28-3 loss.
Hurts took off down the right sideline on a third-and-7 play to start the fourth quarter and Banks basically allowed him to run unimpeded past him and out of bounds.
The 16-yard run extended the drive and ultimately led to Hurts’ second rushing score of the game, a one-yard touchdown that provided the final score.
“I had a bad play,’’ Banks said. “I think I could have made it, but sometimes when you’re in the moment you just think like, ‘Nah,’ but I think could have made the tackle.’’
