There may not be a better time for an NBA player to debut a new look than in the season opener.

With the Lakers beginning their 2024-25 season against the Timberwolves on Tuesday night, D’Angelo Russell did exactly that

The guard, currently in his second stint in Los Angeles, showed off a new, fully blonde haircut as he kicked off his 10th season in the league.

Here’s a look at Russell’s new style in Tuesday’s matchup between the Lakers and Timberwolves.

Russell previously had some blonde highlights to his hair, which he showed off in the preseason and during media day.

Here’s how it looked before:

By Tuesday’s matchup to begin his 2024-25 regular season, though, Russell’s hair appeared to be fully blonde.

His new look can be seen here, with the same style as before but a change in hair color:

Last season, Russell averaged 18.0 points and 6.3 ᴀssists for Los Angeles. It remains to be seen if his new look can help him spark another standout season as one of the Lakers’ top guards, but Russell did put up seven points in his first 13 minutes against Minnesota on Tuesday.
