Hours later, Dave wheeled Rebecca through the hospital corridors so she could finally see her daughter again.

“We both had tears in our eyes,” Rebecca remembered. “She was absolutely gorgeous.”

Despite being born with Down syndrome and severe heart complications, Violet immediately showed incredible strength.

After only one day on oxygen support, doctors were able to remove the breathing ᴀssistance.

Six days later, she was discharged home.

Another Heart Diagnosis and Major Surgery

Just when the family thought they could finally settle into normal life, doctors discovered Violet had an additional rare heart condition called Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV).

In DORV, both major arteries connect to the heart’s right ventricle, significantly affecting normal circulation.

At just eight months old, Violet underwent a six-hour open-heart surgery to repair the defects.

The operation left a scar running down her tiny chest, and recovery was difficult. In the months following surgery, Violet experienced repeated infections and several hospital visits.

Still, she continued fighting.

And gradually, she began thriving.

Today, Violet Is Inspiring Thousands

Now two years old, Violet is healthy, happy, and full of personality.

She has started toddling, continues reaching developmental milestones, and brings enormous joy to everyone around her.

One of the proudest moments for Rebecca and Dave came when Violet’s pH๏τo appeared on a giant billboard in Times Square, New York, as part of a campaign for the National Down Syndrome Society.

For her parents, the moment felt surreal.

Looking back, Rebecca says she could never have predicted how life would unfold after her failed IVF treatment.
