🖤🔫 PART 4: THE MAFIA BOSS DISCOVERED HIS BROTHER’S TRUE IDENтιтY… BUT NOTHING PREPARED HIM FOR THE WOMAN WHO HAD BEEN PULLING THE STRINGS ALL ALONG.

The door opened.

Alessandra Moretti stood frozen as a man entered the room, his face half-hidden beneath the shadows.

Her mother immediately rose to her feet.

“No,” Isabella whispered. “You weren’t supposed to come here.”

The man removed his coat.

And Alessandra felt the world tilt beneath her.

It was Vincenzo Bandi.

Again.

“You told me my father was ᴅᴇᴀᴅ,” she said, her voice trembling with fury. “You told me he betrayed our family.”

Vincenzo regarded her quietly.

“I told you what you needed to believe.”

“Where is my father?”

For the first time, his expression softened.

“Your father is the reason you’re alive.”

Before Alessandra could demand an explanation, Isabella stepped between them.

“Enough, Vincenzo. She’s suffered enough.”

He looked at Isabella for a long moment.

Then he said something that silenced the room.

“Tell her who ordered the mᴀssacre.”

Isabella’s lips parted, but no words came out.

Alessandra looked from one to the other.

“Who?”

Her mother closed her eyes.

“Your grandmother.”

The silence that followed was unbearable.

According to Isabella, the Moretti and Bandi families had once planned to unite their empires through a secret alliance. But Alessandra’s grandmother wanted absolute control. When she discovered that Isabella’s husband intended to leave the criminal world and expose the people responsible for years of violence, she ordered the má´€ssacre.

Vincenzo had been blamed because he survived.

Alessandra’s father had been declared ᴅᴇᴀᴅ because nobody could find his body.

And the little girl at the center of the conspiracy had disappeared.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Alessandra demanded.

“Because your grandmother never stopped looking for you,” Isabella replied. “And because the truth would have made you a target all over again.”

Vincenzo stepped toward the door.

“There’s something else you should know. Your grandmother isn’t working alone anymore.”

He paused.

“She’s working with Marco.”

Across Brooklyn, Nicolo Bandi was beginning to understand how thoroughly his life had been manipulated.

Marco stood opposite him in the abandoned church, the old pH๏τograph lying between them.

“Tell me the truth,” Nicolo demanded. “Who are you?”

Marco took a long breath.

“My real name is Marco Moretti.”

Nicolo stared at him.

“No.”

“Your father found me after the mᴀssacre. I was a child. He raised me as his son because he believed keeping me close would prevent another war.”

“You expect me to believe you’ve been lying to me my entire life?”

“I was protecting you.”

“From what? The truth?”

Marco’s expression hardened.

“From the fact that our father helped destroy Alessandra’s family—and that the woman who ordered it is still alive.”

Nicolo felt something inside him break.

“You knew where Alessandra was?”

“I knew she would eventually come looking for answers.”

“And you hired her to protect me?”

Marco nodded.

“Because I knew our grandmother would use her to get to you.”

Nicolo slowly reached for his weapon, then stopped.

He remembered Alessandra standing between him and the gunmen at Café Luna. He remembered the terror in her eyes when she begged him not to let them take her back.

She hadn’t been trying to destroy him.

She had been trying to survive the same nightmare that had haunted his family.

“Where is she?” he asked.

Marco looked away.

“I don’t know.”

Nicolo slammed his fist against the table.

“Then find out!”

Marco’s phone vibrated.

A message appeared from an unknown number.

A pH๏τograph of Alessandra, seated beside her mother.

Beneath it were eight words:

BRING NIC0LO TO THE OLD MORETTI ESTATE. COME ALONE.

Marco stared at the screen.

Then he slowly turned it toward his brother.

“It’s a trap,” he said.

Nicolo picked up his coat.

“Then we’ll make sure we’re not the only ones setting one.”

At midnight, two black cars approached the abandoned Moretti estate.

Nicolo stepped out alone.

At least, that was what the guards watching from the windows believed.

Inside the mansion, Alessandra sat at a long dining table with her mother. Across from them stood an elderly woman in an elegant black dress.

Her grandmother.

The woman who had supposedly been ᴅᴇᴀᴅ for twelve years.

“You have your mother’s eyes,” the old woman observed.

Alessandra didn’t answer.

Her grandmother placed a document on the table.

“Sign this, and everything your father left behind will belong to you. The Moretti empire, its properties, its accounts. Everything.”

“And if I refuse?”

“Then the people you love will pay for your stubbornness.”

Alessandra glanced at her mother.

Isabella gave the smallest shake of her head.

Don’t sign.

The old woman noticed.

“Still trying to make her brave, Isabella? You should have taught her obedience instead.”

A voice interrupted from the doorway.

“Funny. I was about to say the same thing about you.”

Nicolo walked into the room.

His weapon remained concealed, but his expression left no doubt that he had come prepared for war.

Alessandra rose immediately.

“Nicolo, don’t!”

Her grandmother smiled.

“Ah. The Bandi heir. I’ve been waiting for you.”

“You ordered the mᴀssacre,” Nicolo said.

“I preserved my family’s future.”

“You murdered innocent people.”

“I made difficult decisions.”

Nicolo stepped closer.

“And now you’re going to release them.”

The old woman laughed.

“You think you can threaten me in my own house?”

“No,” he replied. “I think you should be worried about who’s standing behind you.”

Her smile vanished.

A second figure appeared in the doorway.

Marco.

But he wasn’t holding a weapon.

He was holding a small audio recorder.

“I’ve been waiting twelve years to play this,” he said.

He pressed a ʙuттon.

A woman’s voice filled the room.

The grandmother’s voice.

“If the Moretti boy survives, make sure he grows up believing the Bandis killed his family. When the time comes, he’ll destroy them for us.”

Isabella covered her mouth.

Alessandra stared at the old woman in disbelief.

Marco continued.

“I found the original recording in the family vault. It proves she orchestrated the mᴀssacre and manipulated both families into a war that made her richer.”

The grandmother’s expression transformed.

For the first time, the powerful matriarch looked afraid.

“You foolish boy,” she hissed. “You have no idea what you’ve done.”

“Actually,” Marco replied, “I think I finally do.”

He turned to Nicolo.

“I spent twelve years pretending to be your brother because I thought keeping the peace meant hiding the truth. I was wrong.”

Nicolo said nothing.

Marco lowered his head.

“I’m sorry.”

For a moment, the two men stood in silence.

Then the grandmother reached for the document on the table.

She tore it in half.

“You think a recording will end this?” she demanded. “You have no idea who else is involved.”

She looked directly at Alessandra.

“Ask your mother what happened to your father.”

Isabella went pale.

Alessandra turned toward her.

“Mother?”

Isabella’s eyes filled with tears.

“Your father survived the mᴀssacre,” she whispered. “But he made a deal with Vincenzo. He agreed to disappear so you could live.”

“Where is he now?”

Isabella hesitated.

Then she looked at Nicolo.

“Your father knows.”

Before anyone could respond, the mansion’s lights went out.

A crash sounded from the upper floor.

Someone shouted.

When the emergency lights flickered on, the grandmother was gone.

So was the audio recorder.

And on the dining table lay a single pH๏τograph.

It showed Vincenzo Bandi standing beside a man Alessandra recognized immediately from an old family portrait.

Her father.

Alive.

On the back, someone had written a message:

THE WAR ENDS WHEN ONE OF YOU CONFESSES.

Nicolo looked at Alessandra.

She was staring at the pH๏τograph, tears running silently down her face.

For twelve years, she had believed her father was ᴅᴇᴀᴅ.

Now she knew he was alive.

But there was something in the pH๏τograph that frightened Nicolo more than anything else.

His father was wearing the gold ring.

And standing beside him, smiling at the camera, was the woman who had ordered the má´€ssacre.

They hadn’t merely survived the same war.

They had been working together.

All along.

Nicolo took Alessandra’s hand.

“Whatever happens next, we face it together.”

She looked at him, torn between hope and fear.

“You don’t understand,” she whispered. “If my father is alive, then everything I’ve done to find justice may have been based on a lie.”

Nicolo gently squeezed her hand.

“Then we’ll find the truth.”

Outside, a phone rang inside the abandoned car.

Nicolo answered it.

His father’s voice came through, calm as ever.

“Nicolo, my son. Bring Alessandra to me.”

A pause.

Then the words that made Nicolo’s blood run cold.

“Because tomorrow morning, I’m marrying her to Marco Moretti.”

The line went ᴅᴇᴀᴅ.

Alessandra stared at Nicolo.

Marco slowly raised his head.

And somewhere in the darkness beyond the estate, a convoy of black vehicles began moving toward them.
