💙🫀 HIS HEART WAS DIFFERENT — BUT HIS COURAGE WAS UNSTOPPABLE 👶✨

At 20 weeks pregnant, Jody went into her routine anatomy scan expecting another happy glimpse of her growing baby. Instead, doctors discovered something was seriously wrong with his heart. 💔

Further testing revealed Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, a rare congenital heart defect in which the right side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. Doctors knew his journey would involve surgeries, uncertainty, and intensive medical care from the moment he was born. 🏥🩺

Later, an additional genetic condition was also discovered, adding even more uncertainty to the road ahead.

His parents named him Alex. 💙

From his first days of life, Alex was surrounded by monitors, tubes, wires, and medical teams. His tiny heart needed help, and his first surgery came early. Surgeons worked carefully to improve blood flow and give his body the oxygen it needed. 🙏

For Jody and her family, every hour in the waiting room felt endless. When the surgeon finally returned with cautious optimism, they felt relief — while knowing there would be more procedures and challenges ahead. ❤️‍🩹

But Alex kept moving forward, one small milestone at a time. ✨

Recently, Jody shared encouraging news: “Alex is doing really well. We’re hopeful he’ll be discharged soon.” 🏡💙
