‼️ JUST HOURS AFTER HER MOTHER ASKED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TO PRAY FOR HER 8-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER, MELODY HAS PᴀssED AWAY.

For months, Crista had been fighting alongside her little girl.

Today, she had to send the message no mother ever wants to write.

Melody pᴀssed away at 1:58 p.m.

Earlier that same morning, Crista was still asking people to pray for her daughter as doctors worked to save her after she suffered cardiac arrest while battling pneumonia and sepsis.

Doctors were able to resuscitate Melody, but Crista said they did not know whether her daughter would survive.

Now, her mother is asking for one final prayer.

“Please pray she has a peaceful trip to heaven.”

Melody was only 8 years old.

Her family’s journey began months ago, after headaches and blurry vision led doctors to discover a tumor deep within the center of her brain.

The little girl from Harlingen, Texas, was airlifted to Driscoll Children’s Hospital and underwent brain surgery in February.

According to her mother, the months that followed brought one challenge after another.

Melody endured a permanent shunt, infections, memory problems, hallucinations and repeated hospitalizations.

She even spent her 8th birthday inside the hospital.

About a month ago, she began chemotherapy.

Then pneumonia developed.

According to Crista, the infection progressed to sepsis, and Melody’s condition deteriorated rapidly.

She suffered cardiac arrest, and doctors were able to bring her back.

But despite the efforts to save her, Melody’s body could not overcome everything it had been through.

Today, her fight ended.

For Crista, the loss is impossible to put into words.

She shared a final message for the daughter she described as her best friend:

“I want her to know mom loves her more than words could ever express. I’ll miss you forever and one day we’ll be together again, my pretty girl. You’re my best friend forever.”

Those words reveal the depth of a mother’s love for a child she never expected to lose.

And somehow, even while facing her own unbearable grief, Crista thought about other parents still sitting beside children battling cancer.

“For all the parents out there fighting cancer alongside their babies, stay strong,” she said. “Everything will be okay in the end. God will take care of everything always no matter what.”

Just hours earlier, people were praying for Melody’s lungs to improve, for the infection to come under control and for her little body to find the strength to keep fighting.

Now the prayer has changed.
