He Saved Three People Before Losing His Own Life: Texas Father Remembered as a Hero 💔🕊️

‼️ He Saved Three People Before Losing His Own Life: Texas Father Remembered as a Hero 💔🕊️

He helped get three people out of a collapsing construction site.
He was the only one who did not make it out.
Now, his daughter says her father’s final act of courage was a perfect reflection of the way he lived his entire life. 💔🕊️

Carmen Ramos Hortelano, 37, tragically lost his life on August 27 after a house under construction collapsed in Austin, Texas.

His daughter, Dulce, is now sharing her father’s story and asking people to remember the man behind the tragedy.

According to Dulce, Carmen helped rescue three people who had become trapped in the collapse during high winds.

One of those survivors was trapped underneath the structure before eventually being pulled out and airlifted to a hospital in downtown Austin.

He survived.

But his family says he has been unable to forget the person who helped save him.

“He cannot get the image of the friend who lost his life out of his mind.”

That friend was Carmen.

For Dulce, the circumstances surrounding her father’s final moments are heartbreaking, but they are also deeply consistent with the man she knew.

“My dad meant everything to us,” she shared.

Carmen was a husband and father who raised three adopted sons and a daughter.

His family says he welcomed his wife’s relatives as his own and was constantly searching for ways to help other people.

Helping others was not something Carmen did only when it was convenient.

It was part of who he was.

Before his pᴀssing, he had even been collecting items to sell in an effort to raise money for a friend battling cancer.

He organized food sales to help people struggling financially.

Throughout his 37 years, Carmen repeatedly found ways to make someone else’s burden a little lighter.

And then, when a dangerous situation unfolded around him, Dulce says he once again put other people before himself.

Three people survived.

Carmen did not.

That simple contrast has become one of the most painful parts of his family’s grief — but also one of the clearest reminders of the kind of person he was.

He was not simply a worker caught in a tragic construction-site collapse.

He was a husband.

A father.

A friend.

A helper.

And, according to the people who knew him best, someone who could not turn away when another person needed help. ❤️

For the families of the people Carmen helped rescue, August 27 will forever carry two emotions: graтιтude for survival and sorrow for the man who made that survival possible.

For Carmen’s own family, the days ahead will be filled with memories and an absence that can never truly be replaced.

His wife has lost her husband.

His children have lost their father.

His friends have lost someone who repeatedly showed up when others needed him.

Now, his loved ones are asking for prayers as they prepare to say their final goodbyes.

Please surround Carmen’s wife, Dulce, his children and everyone who loved him with compᴀssion and prayer. 🙏🕊️

Remember the way he lived.

Remember the people he helped.

Remember that when everything came crashing down around him, Carmen still chose to put others first.

Three people made it home because he helped them. His family will carry his courage forever. ❤️🕊️

Rest peacefully, Carmen.
