‼️ He Was Here for Just 26 Days: Texas Family Faces Unimaginable Loss 💔🕊️
Twenty-six days. That was the precious amount of time Anita and Raymundo Altamirano had with their baby boy, Santiago.
Then, in an instant, their world changed forever. 💔
Now, a New Braunfels family is preparing to say goodbye to a newborn they had only just begun to know. 🕊️
Santiago was born on August 7th, bringing joy to his family and giving his parents the beginning of a journey they had undoubtedly dreamed about for years.
But on September 2nd, just 26 days later, that journey took a devastating turn.
According to Santiago’s aunt, Alma, Anita found her newborn son unresponsive. Beyond those circumstances, the family is still trying to understand what happened, and there are not yet answers that can explain why their baby boy is suddenly gone.
There is no easy way to describe what comes next.
A family that was celebrating the arrival of a new baby only weeks ago is now facing the heartbreaking task of planning his funeral and burial.
Alma reached out asking people to surround her sister and brother-in-law with love, prayers and support during what she describes as the worst moment of their lives. 🙏
The family was already experiencing financial difficulties before this tragedy. Now, they are facing unexpected funeral expenses at a time when their hearts are overwhelmed with grief.
But behind those practical challenges is something even deeper: the unbearable pain of losing a child.
Anita shared a few words that reveal just how devastating these days have become:
“I have always been strong but man the pain has me on my knees.”
Then came a question that has echoed through the hearts of countless grieving parents:
“Why?”
There may be no answer capable of making this loss understandable.
For now, Santiago’s family is asking for something much simpler — compᴀssion, prayers and the reminder that they do not have to walk through this grief alone. ❤️
Please pray for Anita.
Pray for Raymundo.
Pray for Santiago’s grandparents, relatives, friends and everyone who loved this tiny boy.
And if you have ever experienced the loss of a child, perhaps leave these parents a few words of encouragement. Sometimes, hearing from someone who understands even a fraction of their pain can make the loneliness feel a little less overwhelming.
Santiago’s life lasted only 26 days.
But the length of a life does not determine its value.
He was loved. He was wanted. He was here.
And his little life mattered. 🕊️❤️
Please help this family feel surrounded by love as they face the days ahead. 🙏
