Janie was eventually placed on ECMO, a machine that temporarily supports the heart and lungs when the body is struggling to function on its own.

But surviving the cardiac arrest was only the beginning of another difficult chapter.

Problems with blood flow caused devastating complications.

Her right hand eventually had to be amputated.

Her left hand was also severely affected, resulting in the loss of three fingers, while several toes were damaged as well.

🌷🫀 ANOTHER HEART PROCEDURE
Ten months after her birth, Janie faced another major procedure.

Doctors repaired a hole in her heart and implanted a new pulmonary valve to improve blood flow. ❤️‍🩹

After everything she had already endured, the procedure marked another important step forward.

And eventually came the moment her family had been longing for:
