BEFORE THE FAME, THE CAMERAS AND THE SPOTLIGHT, KAYLEE H๏τTLE WAS SIMPLY A STUDENT WITH BIG DREAMS — NOW HER LEGACY WILL OPEN DOORS FOR OTHERS
Before audiences around the world came to recognize her name, Kaylee H๏τtle was first and foremost a student. She learned, laughed, trained, performed and dreamed alongside her classmates, building memories far away from the bright lights of the entertainment industry.
At the Texas School for the Deaf, Kaylee found more than a place to study. She found a community where she could grow, challenge herself and be part of something bigger. While many people knew her through her work on the big screen, those closest to her at school remembered a young person whose life was filled with many pᴀssions.
Now, the school is ensuring that those pᴀssions continue to make a difference for years to come.
The Texas School for the Deaf has established the Kaylee H๏τtle Memorial Student-Athlete Scholarship, created to honor the qualities that defined her time within the school community. The scholarship will recognize graduating students who demonstrate strengths connected to athletics, the performing arts, leadership, perseverance, creativity, teamwork and dedication to their school.
According to reports about the scholarship, one or two graduating seniors may be selected each year, giving future students an opportunity to carry forward the values Kaylee represented during her own journey at TSD.
Kaylee was known at school for being deeply involved in student life. She participated in athletics, including track and field, basketball and cross-country, while also taking part in performing arts and bringing enthusiasm to the wider school community. Those different interests are now reflected in the scholarship created in her honor.
