Pope Leo XIV has expressed deep concern that many young people drift away from church life after receiving the sacrament of Confirmation, calling it one of the biggest spiritual challenges facing the Catholic Church today.

Speaking to clergy and youth leaders, the Pope urged parishes to become more welcoming, engaging, and supportive for younger generations searching for meaning and connection.  He emphasized that faith must continue beyond ceremonies and traditions, growing through community, service, and personal encounter with Christ.
