5-YEAR-OLD IGNACIA SANMARTIN LIVES WITH A RARE LYMPHATIC CONDITION AFFECTING HER FACE AND NECK

In Chile, five-year-old Ignacia Sanmartin, from Villa Alemana, has faced an extraordinary medical journey since early childhood.

Ignacia was born with lymphangioma, a rare condition involving abnormal lymphatic vessels. Over time, the condition caused a large, fluid-filled mᴀss to develop across parts of her lower face and neck, affecting areas including her chin and cheeks.

As the mᴀss gradually grew, Ignacia and her family faced the challenges of managing a condition that significantly affected her young life.

Her story highlights the difficulties children with complex lymphatic malformations and their families can experience while seeking specialized medical care.

Despite everything she has faced at such a young age, Ignacia continues her journey surrounded by the support and love of her family.

Behind the condition is a little girl whose courage and resilience continue to inspire those around her.
