👼💗 Premature Baby Scarlett Spent Just Two Precious Hours in Her Parents’ Arms, Surrounded by Endless Love

Alyssa Youn and her husband, Justin, dreamed of the day they would finally hold their first child. Instead, they were given only two precious hours with their baby girl—a brief but unforgettable time filled with love, tears, and cherished memories. 💕

Because of underlying health conditions, including cerebral palsy and type 2 diabetes, Alyssa’s pregnancy was considered high-risk. Even so, everything appeared to be going well. At her 19-week ultrasound, baby Scarlett was growing beautifully, and her parents eagerly looked forward to meeting her. 👶✨

Soon afterward, Alyssa began experiencing unusual pain and overwhelming exhaustion. At first, she believed it was simply part of pregnancy, but the discomfort quickly became severe. After developing pelvic pain and light bleeding, she visited the emergency room, where she was examined and sent home.

Still, Alyssa felt something wasn’t right.

The following day, doctors discovered she had cervical insufficiency (incompetent cervix), a condition in which the cervix begins opening too early during pregnancy. Although specialists discussed possible treatments, they determined that none would safely stop the labor that had already begun. 🏥💔

As Scarlett continued to grow, Alyssa’s cervix continued to dilate despite every effort to slow the process.

“I felt like I had failed my husband and our daughter,” Alyssa later shared. “I just kept saying, ‘I’m sorry.’ We cried, we prayed, and we asked our family and friends to come to the hospital.”

At just 20 weeks and 5 days of gestation, Scarlett arrived far too soon. Knowing their daughter’s chances of survival were incredibly small, Alyssa and Justin invited their loved ones to gather around them—not only to welcome Scarlett into the world, but also to treasure every moment they would have together. 🤍🕊️

After she was born, Scarlett remained in her parents’ arms for just two precious hours.

“As I held her, she struggled to breathe,” Alyssa recalled. “I told her I was sorry. I told her I loved her. I told her it was okay to rest.”

Family members took turns holding and embracing the tiny baby girl, surrounding her with love throughout her short life. Her grandmother gently captured those precious moments in pH๏τographs that would become treasured memories for the family. 📸💗

Although Scarlett’s time on Earth lasted only two hours, her impact has been far greater.

Inspired by her daughter, Alyssa has dedicated herself to raising awareness about pregnancy loss, stillbirth, and cervical insufficiency, encouraging other families to share their stories and helping expectant parents recognize the importance of early care and support.

Through Scarlett’s brief but deeply meaningful life, her family hopes to bring comfort, understanding, and hope to others walking a similar path.

Though she was held for only a short time, Scarlett was surrounded by a lifetime of love—and her memory continues to shine brightly in the hearts of everyone who knew her story. 👼💖🌈
