DREDD (2012)

In the sprawling, post-apocalyptic Mega-City One, crime runs rampant and only the Judges — elite law enforcers with the power to sentence and execute on the spot — maintain order.
Karl Urban delivers a stone-cold, helmet-clad performance as Judge Dredd, the ultimate symbol of justice. Paired with rookie Judge Cassandra Anderson (played by Olivia Thirlby), a young mutant with powerful psychic abilities, Dredd must evaluate her skills during a routine mission that quickly spirals into chaos.

Their target: the 200-storey Peach Trees mega-block, controlled by ruthless drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey in a ferocious, scarred role). Ma-Ma has flooded the streets with the new narcotic Slo-Mo, which slows perception to a dreamlike crawl — turning violence into horrifyingly beautiful slow-motion carnage.
Trapped inside the vertical warzone with no backup, Dredd and Anderson face waves of heavily armed gang members. Supporting players include Wood Harris as the cunning Kay, Domhnall Gleeson as the terrified Clan Techie, Warrick Grier as enforcer Caleb, and Rakie Ayola as the Chief Judge.

Brutal gunfights. Psychic mind-reading. Explosive action. No mercy. No escape.
This gritty, R-rated sci-fi thriller stays relentlessly faithful to the legendary 2000 AD comics, delivering non-stop intensity and jaw-dropping visuals.
