ST. PAUL, Minnesota — Three families are mourning the loss of loved ones following a tragic incident inside a St. Paul apartment leasing office, where three people lost their lives.

The victims were identified as 56-year-old Dena Silcox, 43-year-old Adam Wilwerding, and 25-year-old Nansi Fuentes Zambrano.

While authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, the families of those lost are focusing on remembering who they were — not simply how their lives ended.

Loved ones describe Dena Silcox as a caring and compᴀssionate person who dedicated much of her life to helping others.

Her family says Dena had always been someone who looked after the people around her. Her younger brother, Erik Silcox, described her as someone with a natural ability to protect and support others, even from a young age.

Her mother, Sharon Silcox, remembered her daughter’s laughter, kindness, and the joy she brought into everyday family moments.

Dena’s daughter, Karly McMillen, shared that her mother cared deeply about the residents at the apartment community where she worked for approximately a decade. She said Dena saw people as individuals and always wanted to help those who needed support.

For Dena’s 86-year-old father, Bob Silcox, accepting the loss of his daughter has been overwhelming.

He described the pain of speaking with the coroner and trying to understand a reality that no parent expects to face — losing a child.

Although the grief remains heavy, the family says they will continue leaning on one another and honoring Dena’s memory.

Adam Wilwerding and Nansi Fuentes Zambrano are also being remembered by their families and friends as people whose lives touched those around them.

The tragedy has left the St. Paul community grieving and reflecting on the importance of compᴀssion, safety, and supporting one another during difficult times.

Authorities arrested Tsegaab Binessu in connection with the incident. The allegations against him remain accusations, and he is considered innocent unless proven guilty through the legal process.

According to investigators, the incident followed an alleged disagreement involving a parking garage contract. Officials continue examining evidence and details surrounding what happened.
