Within hours, a devastating combination of meningitis and septicaemia took hold, attacking with a speed and severity that left no time to prepare. What started as a sudden illness quickly spiraled into a life-threatening emergency, as the infection spread through his small, fragile body.

Doctors worked against the clock, making critical decisions in seconds. As his condition worsened, they were forced to take an unimaginable step to save his life: amputating all four of his limbs. It was the only way to stop the infection from claiming him entirely.

But even that wasn’t the end of the fight.
