๐ฐ๐ ๐ Against Every Expectation: After 20 Years of Heartbreak, Little Hannah Is Fighting for Her Next Miracle
For two decades, Jami and her family held ัฮนิะฝัly to a dream that seemed just out of reach.
After experiencing 17 pregnancy losses over 20 years, they finally received the joyful news they had been praying forโa baby girl they named Hannah.
But only weeks into the pregnancy, that joy was met with devastating news.
At just 16 weeks, doctors discovered Hannah had developed without kidneys, and there was almost no amniotic fluid surrounding her. Her parents were told the outlook was extremely poor, and they were presented with heartbreaking options.
Refusing to give up, Jami and her family searched for another path.
Their determination led them to specialists in Houston, Texas, where Hannah was accepted into an experimental medical program designed to give babies with similar conditions a chance. Throughout the pregnancy, Jami underwent 22 amnioinfusion procedures, helping provide the environment needed for Hannah’s lungs to continue developing.
When Hannah arrived at 33 weeks, her journey was only beginning.
Within 14 hours of birth, she underwent her first surgery and immediately started dialysis. She then spent 182 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where doctors, nurses, and her family celebrated every milestone, no matter how small.
Eventually, the day her parents had dreamed about finally arrived.
Hannah came home.
Today, she is 4 years old, full of determination and surrounded by a family that has never stopped believing in her. Every night, while most children sleep peacefully, Hannah receives dialysis at home as her family carefully manages the treatment that keeps her healthy.
Over the years, she has undergone numerous medical procedures and overcome challenge after challenge. According to her family, Hannah is believed to be one of only about 16 known children in the United States born without kidneys who have survived.
Now, a new chapter may be beginning.
After several transplant centers determined her case was too complex, specialists at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford shared the news her family had waited years to hear.
They believe Hannah is finally ready to be evaluated for a kidney transplant.
Before that evaluation can happen, however, one important obstacle remains.
Because Hannah’s immune system is extremely fragile, her medical team has advised against commercial air travel. Her family is now hoping a donated private flight can safely transport her to California later this month, allowing her to attend the evaluation that could shape her future.
Jami says they are not asking for sympathy.
Instead, they are asking for hope, prayers, and the opportunity to help their daughter reach the hospital that believes in what may still be possible.
As Hannah continues her remarkable journey, her story stands as a powerful reminder of perseverance, unconditional love, and the incredible strength that can grow even after years of heartbreak.
Her family now looks toward the future with cautious optimism, praying that the next chapter brings new opportunities, renewed hope, and perhaps the miracle they have been waiting for all along. ๐๐๐ง
