Nicknamed “Baby Hulk,” Little Girl Defies the Odds Despite Rare Disorder

Madison Gatlin was born with CLOVES syndrome, an extremely rare genetic condition affecting only a few hundred people worldwide. The disorder causes abnormal tissue overgrowth and fluid-filled mᴀsses, leaving a tumor on her upper body the size of a small watermelon and giving her the appearance of a tiny bodybuilder.
Doctors discovered the condition during pregnancy and feared she might not survive. They even believed she would never be able to sit, crawl, or walk.
But Madison has defied every expectation. Now a toddler, she has learned to walk and continues to amaze her doctors with her determination.

To manage her condition, Madison wears custom compression garments around the clock, undergoes regular treatments to reduce the swelling, and receives daily care from her mother, Joni, who performs specialized therapy at home.
Despite cruel comments from strangers, Joni refuses to let her daughter be defined by her condition. Instead, she lovingly calls Madison “Baby Hulk” to help other children see her as someone special rather than different.

“Madison is a miracle child,” Joni said. “She’s proving everyone wrong every single day.”
