The death of Belarusian singer Vera Kravtsova shocked the world — mainly because of the cruel story behind the tragedy involving the 26-year-old.
According to several international media outlets, such as The Sun and Daily Mail , the young woman was lured to Thailand with a false job offer as a model before being forced to work as a slave in Myanmar and then killed by an international Sєx and organ trafficking ring.
Vera Kravtsova (a Belarusian) traveled to Thailand with the promise of modeling work but fell into the trap of a scam gang. The 26-year-old beauty is believed to have been murdered and her organs sold on the black market.
Vera Kravtsova was tricked into going to Thailand and then disappeared. Later, her family was informed of her death.
On October 16th, several news outlets such as the Daily Mail and The Sun reported that Vera Kravtsova flew to Thailand with the promise of a modeling contract and a dream job in the land of temples. Mash News reported that the young Belarusian woman flew to Bangkok for an interview, but instead of the opportunity to walk the catwalk, she was tricked into going to Myanmar around mid-September and held captive in a cybercrime hideout. “Her job included being beautiful to serve her ‘master’ and swindling money from wealthy people,” the news agency stated.
Thai officials: Model murdered was not ‘forced’ to go to Myanmar
According to the Russian news agency SH๏τ, Vera Kravtsova had been missing since the beginning of October. Shortly after, the criminal group contacted Kravtsova’s family, informing them that the model had died and demanding $500,000 (over 13 billion VND) for her body. After the family refused, they said they had cremated her body and declared: “Don’t look for her anymore.” The aforementioned news agency claims Kravtsova was sold to an organ trafficking ring, had her organs removed, and her body cremated.
A Myanmar police official said: “From the beginning, she received a fake contract from a criminal group, not a modeling agency, and was taken straight from Thailand to northern Myanmar and sold into ‘slavery’.”

The Vera Kravtsova case further fuels public outrage over the rampant activities of fraudsters and human traffickers.
International media revealed that this is just one of many cases of people being lured to Thailand for work and eventually falling into the hands of fraudulent gangs in the difficult-to-control border region. Typically, these victims have their pᴀssports and phones confiscated, are forced to participate in fraudulent activities, and are threatened with organ harvesting or forced prosтιтution if they fail to swindle money from low-income online “targets.”
According to leaked information, Vera Kravtsova is from Minsk (Belarus). After graduating from university, she moved to St. Petersburg (Russia) to work as a freelance model. She has built a diverse career profile through working in Vietnam, Indonesia, and China.

Actor Wang Jing was fortunately rescued in January 2025 after being tricked into going to Thailand to film.
Before Vera Kravtsova, international media had reported on victims who were tricked into going to Thailand for work and then fell into the trap of smuggling gangs at the border.
One of the most widely publicized cases involved Chinese actor Wang Jing in early 2025. Initially lured to Thailand for filming, he was then taken to the border area between Thailand and Myanmar. After several days of disappearance, his family sought help everywhere, and the 31-year-old artist was rescued by police and returned to China in early January. Model Yang Zeqi also faced a similar situation and returned home safely.
