A mother has shared the heartbreaking decision she was forced to make when her family’s boat overturned at sea, leaving everyone fighting for survival in dangerous conditions.

With waves, exhaustion, and uncertainty closing in, she realized that waiting for help might cost lives. Faced with an impossible choice, she allowed her teenage son to attempt what seemed unthinkable: swim approximately 4 kilometers through challenging waters to reach shore and alert rescuers.

According to reports, the teenager set off alone while his family remained stranded, knowing that their chances of survival depended on his ability to complete the journey. His mother later recalled the emotional moment, saying she desperately did not want to let him go but feared the consequences if no help arrived.

Against overwhelming odds, the teen successfully reached land and alerted emergency services. Rescue crews were then able to locate and ᴀssist the remaining family members, bringing a terrifying ordeal to an end.
