Oklahoma Man Charged in Fatal Shooting of Twin Sister and Toddler Daughter

A community in Poteau, Oklahoma, is mourning the loss of a young mother and her 17-month-old daughter following a fatal shooting that authorities say stemmed from a family dispute.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), 31-year-old Grant Wilson has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of his twin sister, Gabrielle Wilson, and her young daughter. The charges remain allegations, and Wilson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Investigators said emergency responders were initially dispatched to the home after receiving a report of a medical emergency. Upon arrival, deputies and paramedics discovered Gabrielle Wilson with a fatal gunsH๏τ wound inside the residence. In another room, officers found her 17-month-old daughter, who had also sustained a fatal gunsH๏τ wound. Both were pronounced ᴅᴇᴀᴅ at the scene.

As investigators processed the home, they recovered shell casings and other physical evidence. According to court documents, detectives also learned that Grant Wilson and his sister had reportedly experienced previous disagreements, information that became part of the investigation.

Authorities say surveillance footage from a nearby residence showed a gray Honda Accord arriving at Gabrielle’s home at approximately 9:00 a.m. The vehicle reportedly remained there for only a few minutes before leaving. Investigators later identified the vehicle as part of the case and issued an alert.

Law enforcement subsequently located the vehicle after a pursuit, and Grant Wilson was taken into custody. He now faces two counts of first-degree murder as the criminal case moves through the court system.

The tragedy has deeply affected the Poteau community, where family members, friends, and neighbors continue to grieve the loss of a mother and her young child. As legal proceedings continue, investigators are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

For Gabrielle Wilson’s loved ones, the focus remains on honoring her memory and that of her daughter, whose lives were cut tragically short. The case has also renewed conversations about family conflict, community support, and the lasting impact of violent crime on those left behind.
