Family Honors Mother’s Courage Following Devastating Venezuela Earthquake

A family’s story has touched many following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026, leaving widespread destruction and countless families affected.
Among those impacted was the family of Venezuelan footballer Héctor “Kike” Bello. His wife, Andrea, was at home with their daughter, Alana, who was just 1 year and 8 months old, when their apartment building in La Guaira collapsed during the earthquake.
According to reports from rescue workers and family members, Andrea shielded her young daughter as the building came down around them. After hours of searching through the rubble, rescue teams were able to locate Alana alive.

Tragically, Andrea did not survive.
