KYLE BEVAN PRISON DEATH: THREE INMATES STAND TRIAL OVER HMP WAKEFIELD CELL ATTACK

Kyle Bevan, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of his two-year-old stepdaughter Lola James, was killed inside his cell at HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire following a violent prison attack, according to court proceedings.

Prosecutors allege that three fellow inmates — Mark Fellows, Lee Newell, and David Taylor — were responsible for the ᴀssault inside the high-security facility. The court heard that the attack was carried out quickly and appeared to be coordinated, taking place entirely within Bevan’s cell.

After the incident, it is alleged the attackers attempted to stage the scene by repositioning Bevan’s body in his bed in an effort to make it appear as though he was asleep. He was later discovered during morning checks.

Bevan had been serving a life sentence for the 2020 killing of Lola James, a case that had previously drawn significant public attention in the UK due to the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

The three accused inmates are currently facing trial for murder. The case has also prompted renewed scrutiny of security procedures within high-security prisons and how such incidents can occur inside closely monitored environments.

Prison authorities have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the attack, including a review of internal surveillance and cell access protocols.
