His mother – Brittney Battles Roberts – shared this moment in the most authentic and moving way. After the first dose of immunotherapy, Will’s body was too exhausted. Brittney wrote:
“Today was a big day. We had a good radiation session and made plans for the next steps. But amidst all that, the ‘what ifs’ started.
Will worried about the pain flaring up. He was discouraged. I was frustrated. Negativity set in. Not the best moment for us.
Thankfully, we had Jason – who always calmly brought the whole family together.

After he went to work, Will and I sat down and talked about the fears, about the side effects, about starting something new when you’re only 15 and so tired of the pain.
We pulled each other back together.
The first dose is always the hardest because of the uncertainty. But we have a good team watching closely.
Immunotherapy dose #1 completed!!!
Please pray that Will’s hand pain is under control.”
