The film is set in California and focuses on Okinawa, Japan, the birthplace of Mr. Miyagi (masterfully played by Pat Morita). The change of scenery not only brings a fresh aesthetic but also offers a deeper dive into Miyagi’s past, enriching his character and the bond he shares with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). 
The story revolves around unresolved conflicts from Miyagi’s youth and Daniel’s evolution as a martial artist and a person. Pat Morita shines as the wise and compᴀssionate Miyagi, delivering a performance imbued with subtle emotion and humor. Ralph Macchio continues to portray Daniel with sincerity, capturing the difficulties of a young man trying to find his way in unfamiliar territory. 
The appearance of Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita), Daniel’s love interest, adds an emotional dimension, while the antagonist Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) provides an intimidating presence that tests Daniel’s courage.
