Eagles superstar Jalen Hurts reveals why he refuses to wear his Super Bowl ring

Jalen Hurts has a simple explanation for why he doesn’t wear his Super Bowl ring: that achievement is in the past.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback produced one of the greatest performances of his career to help the team dethrone back-to-back champions the Kansas City Chiefs in February’s NFL showpiece.

On a night which saw them run out dominant 40-22 victors, Hurts completed 17 of his 22 pᴀsses for 221 yards and two touchdowns in a breathtaking display, while also rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown.

However, fans were quick to notice that he was the only member of the Eagles’ Super Bowl-winning team to not wear his championship ring after receiving them at a glitzy event in Philadelphia last week.

And when asked if he will ever do so, Hurts insisted his sights are set firmly on the future, not the past.

‘I’ve moved on to the new year,’ he told reporters about his refusal to wear the ring this week, via Fox News. ‘It’s as simple as that.’

Hurts, who was named the MVP of Super Bowl LIX, finished the 2024 regular season with a total of 2,903 pᴀssing yards and 18 touchdowns for the eventual Super Bowl champions. He also rushed for 14 scores throughout the campaign.

Despite those solid numbers, fans have previously tried to discredit the 26-year-old’s impact for Nick Sirianni’s team and suggest that he was carried by a world-class offensive line, superstar running back Saquon Barkley and elite wide receivers in AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Sirianni recently fumed about such claims, branding them ‘bulls***’.

‘Yeah, that’s bulls***. Anytime, I hear that, it’s cool, it’s like a nice debate thing that people like to have,’ he said earlier this month about the criticism of Hurts.

‘And I get it, there’s a lot of hours that TV shows and radio stations have to fill to be able to fill that debate.

‘I understand that, but we’re talking about the ultimate team game there is, and he does whatever he needs to do to win each and every game.’
