Terry Bradshaw slams Aaron Rodgers’ drawn-out Steelers courtship: ‘Chew on bark’

Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw didn’t hold back about his feelings on Aaron Rodgers possibly signing with Pittsburgh after an extended courtship.

Rodgers still has not signed a deal with the Steelers despite all indications seeming to point to the union as the future Hall of Famer’s offseason saga has dragged on into OTAs.

Steelers owner Art Rooney II said earlier this month that the organization would wait “a little longer” for Rodgers, but Bradshaw panned the idea of the ex-Packers and Jets QB coming to the Steel City.

“That’s a joke. That to me is just a joke,” Bradshaw said during an appearance on 103.7 The Buzz. “What are you gonna do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.”

Rodgers is expected to ink a one-year deal with the Steelers, but nothing has officially materialized.

The QB did appear to hint at playing for the Steelers recently during a Q&A event hosted by rapper Mike Stud when he was asked if he’d play for the Bears, to which he gave a coy response.

“No, but I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year on a road trip,” Rodgers reportedly said, according to NFL Network. “I don’t know, not sure. Got to check it out.”

The Steelers play against the Bears in Chicago on Nov. 23.

Rodgers had previously said that part of the holdup for making a decision about his future had to do with the fact that someone close to him had been dealing with “difficult stuff.”

He revealed in “The Rogan Podcast” that a member of his inner circle had been dealing with cancer.

“I’ve been in the weeds with these people who are close to me that have cancer,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers is coming off a season where he led the Jets to a 5-12 record and threw for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns.
