Draymond Green humiliates Knicks fan after being ridiculed over Warriors' NBA playoff defeat

Draymond Green’s reputation for confrontation extends beyond the hardwood, as one New York Knicks fan recently discovered at Madison Square Garden.

Green is currently serving as an analyst for TNT’s coverage of the Eastern Conference Playoffs between the Knicks and Indiana Pacers.

Of course, the opportunity only came about because Green’s Golden State Warriors were eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the Western Conference Playoffs. So when a Knicks fan reminded Green of this at MSG, the 35-year-old power forward didn’t hold back.

‘Cancun! Cancun! How was Cancun?’ the Knicks fan shouted at the 6-foot-6 green.

For the uninitiated, Cancun become synonymous with getting eliminated from postseason play because playoff defeats afford athletes the chance to start their offseason vacation plans.

Green, who has battled everyone from opponents to officials and even his own teammates, did not hesitate to unleash on his tormentor.

‘Can you afford to go?’ Green asked before another man got into the Knicks fan’s face.

That man, who stood several inches taller than the Knicks fan, appeared far angrier than Green. In fact, the two actually stood chest to chest with the Knicks fan backed up against a pillar in the upper deck of Madison Square Garden, where Green was stationed for TNT’s halftime show.

Green is known as a combustible player, who often tries to irritate opponents to the point of distraction. He’s been fined nearly $1 million over his career, not including the $3 million he’s lost in game checks over his six separate suspensions.

He recently got a $50,000 fine for suggesting officials were working to keep the outcome of a Timberwolves-Oklahoma City Thunder playoff game around the 5.5-point spread. And prior to that, Green blew up at reporters for questioning him over his fifth technical foul of the postseason.

‘I’m not an angry black man, I’m a very successful, educated black man with a great family and I’m great at basketball – I’m great at what I do,’ he said, per The Athletic.

‘The agenda to continue to keep making me look like an angry black man is crazy. I’m sick of it. It’s ridiculous.’

Green then stormed out of the locker room.

ESPN basketball reporter Tim MacMahon has since slammed Green’s outburst on The Hoop Collective podcast.

‘Oh, God. You know what? Go away, Draymond,’ McMahon said. ‘Shut up, dude.

‘Do not play victim here. Don’t play the victim here. Stop doing flagrant stuff. We’re sick of it. We’re sick of you doing stupid, flagrant crap on a regular basis. It’s not an agenda, Draymond.

‘You get break after break after break after break, and you keep on pushing the line. It was not an agenda to make you look angry when you punched your teammate in the face.’

McMahon was referring to a 2022 incident in which Green punched then-teammate Jordan as the Warriors were preparing for the season.

‘It was not an agenda to make you look angry when you grabbed Rudy Gobert and put him in a sleeper hold,’ McMahon said. ‘It was not an agenda to make you look angry when you punched or smacked, or whatever you want to call it, Jusuf Nurkic upside the head.’
