Tom Brady gets icy reception at Indianapolis 500 as he dons тιԍнт race suit for quick lap around Brickyard

Indianapolis Motor Speedway didn’t give the warmest welcome to a man who had tortured their NFL team for over two decades.

Fox Sports broadcast the Indy 500 in its first year of a new contract with the IndyCar series and brought out many of their talents across the various leagues they cover.

One of those was former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who was introduced to the crowd in a full race suit with his name and iconic No. 12 on the back.

Naturally, Indianapolis didn’t take too kindly to seeing the man who had tortured their beloved Colts over the years.

Brady was drenched in a chorus of boos from the fans at IMS as he waved to the crowd before the race got underway.

Not only was Brady there, but so was his fellow NFL personality Michael Strahan as well as MLB broadcasters and former New York Yankees teammates Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez.

Before the race got underway, Brady got to ride in the cockpit of an IndyCar going for a H๏τ lap around the famous circuit.

While seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson drove the seven-time Super Bowl champion around the track, Brady was stunned by the experience

‘This is incredible, Jimmie driving, all the fans here, I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve ever been here,’ Brady said.

Brady was incredibly successful against the Colts across his career, putting up a record of 16-4 against Indianapolis.

That includes wins in the 2003 AFC Championship, the 2004 AFC Divisional round, the 2013 AFC Divisional round, and the 2014 AFC Championship. His only playoff loss to the Colts came in the 2006 AFC Championship.

His last game against the Colts came with the Buccaneers in 2021, with Brady winning 38-31.

As for the actual running of ‘The Greatest Spectacle in Racing’, Alex Palou of Chip Ganᴀssi Racing became the first Spaniard to ever win the Indianapolis 500.

He just edged out 2022 Indy 500 winner Marcus Ericsson thanks to a bold pᴀss with 14 laps to go.
