The 2024 season slipped away from the Tampa Buccaneers‘ fingertips.
In their NFC wild-card game against the upstart Washington Commanders, quarterback Baker Mayfield and company went into the fourth quarter up 17-13.
Minutes later, things came apart at the seams.
A Terry McLaurin touchdown with 9:46 on the clock put the Bucs down 20-17.
Five minutes later, Chase McLaughlin tied things up with a 32-yard field goal.
Then, as time expired, Commanders kicker Zane Gonzalez doinked the ball through the goalpost from 37 yards out.
Season over.
This year, the Bucs will do everything they can to avoid a similar fate.
To boost their offense, they drafted Ohio State wideout Emeka Egbuka with the 19th overall pick and re-signed star receiver Chris Godwin.
On the defensive side of the ball, coach Todd Bowles’ club picked up star linebacker Haason Reddick, who had a rough 2024, hampered by a holdout with the Jets.
With all the pieces in place — Mayfield and stars Bucky Irving and Mike Evans are back — the Bucs seem poised to make noise this year.
And, now that the 2025 season schedule has been rolled out, we know who they’ll be taking on.
Just a few of the biggest games to keep an eye on this year include huge home game showdowns at Raymond James Stadium with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles (Sept. 28), San Francisco 49ers (Oct. 12) and New England Patriots (Nov. 9).

How to watch/stream Buccaneers games
There is no shortage of ways to watch Buccaneers games live from the comfort of your own home this season.
You can find Bowles’ bold squad on ABC, CBS, ESPN, Fox, NBC and NFL Network on select dates.
In the regular season, most NFC games will be broadcast on Fox.
For specialty games, “Sunday Night Football” can be found on NBC along with Peacock, “Monday Night Football” is reserved for ESPN and “Thursday Night Football” streams on Amazon Prime Video.
