Jets returning to London for Broncos clash — one year after UK loss threw season into a tailspin

The Jets are returning to London with the hope that crossing the ocean doesn’t inject turbulence into their season yet again.

They will face the Broncos on Oct. 12 at Tottenham H๏τspur Stadium, the NFL announced as part of Tuesday’s reveal of a six-game international slate in 2025.

The Jets are the “home” team for the 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time kickoff in Week 6 on NFL Network.

Even without former quarterback Aaron Rodgers and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett — Hackett was ripped by Broncos head coach Sean Payton in 2023 — there is plenty of intrigue in Jets-Broncos.

Payton is a mentor to new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, who was an ᴀssistant under Payton with the Saints.

And new Jets general manager Darren Mougey helped build the Broncos roster as a top lieutenant.

One year ago, the Jets lost to the Vikings in London, and head coach Robert Saleh was fired shortly after returning home.

The decision by owner Woody Johnson — a former U.S. ambᴀssador to the United Kingdom — threw the whole season into chaos rather than creating the desired spark.

This is the sixth straight season that the Jets and Broncos have met, which is unusual for non-divisional opponents — especially considering neither team has won their division during that span.

The Broncos have won three of the previous five meetings, including last year’s ugly 10-9 victory when Greg Zuerlein missed a potential game-winning field goal.

The past two meetings — both won by the visiting team — were dominated by the Hackett-Payton storyline after Payton criticized the job that Hackett did as his predecessor coaching the Broncos.

The Jets hold marketing rights in the United Kingdom under the NFL’s Global Markets Program.

The rest of the Jets schedule will be announced Wednesday and still will include eight home games at MetLife Stadium.
