NFL fans are realizing that the mouthwatering season opener between the Eagles and Cowboys will include the ultimate humiliation for Jerry Jones and Dallas fans.

It was announced earlier in the week that the Cowboys would travel to Philly on September 4 for a huge NFC East showdown with their bitter rivals to open the 2025 season.

For many reasons it is an exciting game for fans, but people are only now realizing that there is an extra reason to enjoy the festivities for Eagles fans.

Much to the dismay of Cowboys fans, they will have to watch their biggest rivals raise a banner to the rafters of Lincoln Financial Field, after the Eagles beat the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl earlier this year.

The moment will be broadcast live to the world on NBC and Peacock, and will only serve to further embarrᴀss Dallas owner Jones in a tough period for the franchise.

The Cowboys missed out on the playoffs last season with a 7-10 record, and have not been to the Super Bowl since they last won it in 1995 against the Steelers.

Things are not likely to get any easier for Dallas any time soon, with first-time head coach Brian ScH๏τtenheimer receiving an underwhelming welcome from the fanbase.

He replaces Mike McCarthy as Jones opts to go down a different route in a bid to find some success for one of the NFL’s most famous franchises. 

In the 2025 Draft, Dallas selected Alabama guard Tyler Booker at No 12 overall, and edge Donovan Ezeiruaku in the second round at No 44 overall.
