ESPN to lift the lid on Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes' private lives with new behind-the-scenes Chiefs doc

The 2024 Kansas City Chiefs are getting the full ‘The Last Dance’ treatment from ESPN.

As revealed at Disney’s annual ‘Upfront’ conference, ESPN cameras had behind-the-scenes access to the team for the 2024 season.

The result will be ‘The Kingdom’ – a multi-part docuseries chronicling the season in which the Chiefs tried to achieve a never-before-seen three-peat.

‘Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs gave ESPN unfiltered access to our lives – on and off the field,’ Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes revealed live on-stage.

‘The result is an incredible six-episode series called The Kingdom that showcases the true heart of our great city, the team, and what it takes to be a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.

‘We dive into the history and legacy of the franchise, from the early days in Texas all the way to our third-straight Super Bowl appearance. It was an honor to be a part of this incredible project, and I can’t wait for all of you to see it.’

In a press release, ESPN said that the series will be available for streaming later this year on ESPN and Disney+.

The series will document ‘the franchise’s indelible and distinctive place in the NFL’s landscape for over more than six decades of history while offering an exclusive, revealing chronicle of the team’s extraordinary 2024 season.’

ESPN says they were granted exclusive access to the team’s ‘rarely seen’ pH๏τo and video archives as well as ‘intimate interviews with players, coaches, and other key figures’ to give fans ‘a fascinating look at the team’s long path to the pinnacle of the sports world.’

In addition to on-field interactions, the Worldwide Leader in Sports also took a look at the players’ personal lives.

No specific people – players, executives, or other – were listed in the press release as interview subjects.

Last season, the Chiefs’ attempt at a historic three-peat was foiled after a demolition in Super Bowl LIX at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles.
