Jayson Tatum has undergone surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon, according to a heartbreaking injury update from the Boston Celtics.
Tatum’s career was thrown into jeopardy at Madison Square Garden on Monday night when he went down in agony in the fourth quarter, before being taken away in a wheelchair.
The Celtics have now confirmed the news NBA fans hoped wouldn’t come, releasing a statement with the latest news.
A post on X read: ‘Jayson Tatum today underwent successful surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles tendon.
‘No timetable is currently available for his return, but he is expected to make a full recovery. Further updates will be provided when appropriate.’
