We already know who the Jets are playing this season. On May 14, we will know the order. Everyone will play the win-loss game when the schedule comes out, but that usually proves to be a fruitless exercise. You can’t predict injuries or even how teams will play.

But we have a pretty good idea of who the tough teams are on the Jets schedule and who they match up well with. It won’t be 100 percent right, but it will be close.

A slow start can doom a team’s season. There have been seasons when the Jets have opened with a brutal stretch of opponents and never recovered. The Jets have not gone 2-0 to start a season since 2015, and you have to go back to Rex Ryan’s first year in 2009 for the last time they went 3-0.
