Fans have blasted Jalen Hurts for attending the Met Gala after snubbing a trip to the White House to meet Donald Trump, branding the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback ‘anti-American.’
Hurts was one of several Eagles players who snubbed the customary invitation to the White House last month following their Super Bowl victory back in February.
While the likes of AJ Brown and Devonta Smith also weren’t present, it was later revealed that Philadelphia’s signal caller was unable to meet Trump due to ‘scheduling conflicts’.
There was no such problem for him on Monday night, however, when he made an appearance at the prestigious Met Gala fashion event in New York City with wife Bry Burrows.
Hurts donned a black suit with floral sтιтching across the chest and shoulders along with a matching beret, while his partner wore a stunning garnet piece with similar floral accents.
Yet after he was spotted on the blue carpet at the Met Gala, fans were quick to rip into Jalen over his White House no-show.

Another said: ‘F** Jalen Hurts and his American hating a**!’
‘Should’ve been w ur team w the president. Bad leader,’ wrote a third.
‘No schedule conflicts?’ a fourth asked sarcastically.
While one joked about another Eagles player who did attend the White House trip: ‘Saquon Barkley is so much better!’
Barkley, meanwhile, has been criticized for meeting Trump last month and even playing golf with the president shortly after.
The running-back sensation, who was also at the Met Gala on Monday night, was seen alongside Trump at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, before traveling with him on Marine One.
He also spent time with Theodore Kushner – the nine-year-old grandson of the president.
Hurts has been labeled ‘anti-American’ by fans on social media over his White House snub
First Daughter Ivanka Trump shared a video to social media of the youngster racing across the White House lawn with Barkley.
Barkley hit back at the criticism, writing on social media: ‘Lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT.’
‘Maybe I just respect the office, not a hard concept to understand. Just golfed with Obama not too long ago…and look forward to finishing my round with Trump!
‘Now ya get out my mentions with all this politics and have amazing day.’
