Bill Belichick labelled 'totally embarrᴀssing' over CBS drama by ex-NFL insider: 'Not buying this idiot's book'

Ex-NFL insider Peter King has reignited his feud with Bill Belichick over the CBS interview from last weekend, with the longtime reporter viewing it as ‘totally embarrᴀssing’.

Belichick’s frosty relationship with King got even worse with the latter’s Spygate coverage. The duo have stayed away from each other while serving as a member of the press and a subject since.

Now, as one is in college football and the other has retired, King has spoken publicly, with drama coming from Belichick’s 49-years-younger girlfriend Jordon Hudson.

The 24-year-old Hudson’s involvement in Belichick’s professional life has been under a microscope for the last week, ever since her interruption of a CBS interview that aired last Sunday.

‘This is a guy who owned every room he ever walked into and now he’s got a 24-year-old muse telling him what to do or trying to control situations that quite frankly she has nothing to do with or should have nothing to do with,’ King, 67, said on ‘Sports Media’.

‘Bill’s got to get a hold of himself here. He’s got to get a hold of this situation. This is embarrᴀssing. It’s totally embarrᴀssing for a guy who’s as great at his job as he is.’

‘Bill Belichick, to promote a book, goes on Sunday morning television for however long it was, say 10 minutes, goes on Sunday morning television with a sweatshirt on with a hole in it. Look at the video of it. He’s got a Navy sweatshirt on that has a hole in it… why does TMZ have him walking out of the Ritz Carlton H๏τel in New York in a perfectly tailored blue suit. Why?’

‘Where is he going? Why is he on a national TV show looking like he’s going to a press conference in Foxboro on no sleep and then he walks out of a H๏τel going wherever he’s going… that was a terrible look in the first place.’

‘Anyone who watched that piece, anyone, look I’m just saying for me, if I’m watching that I’m not buying this idiot’s book. Why would I buy this guy? I hate this guy. That is going to be the impression I get.’

In April, Hudson’s company, Trouble Cub Enterprises, filed for more than a dozen trademarks with the federal trademark office, which are currently owned by Belichick’s former team, the Patriots, of phrases commonly ᴀssociated with the coach, per People.

News first broke earlier this year of a ‘Hard Knocks’ being filmed in Chapel Hill, with a two-month production schedule starting on March 1.

Filming for the new series reportedly only lasted two days before ending, in alleged part due to Hudson’s ‘request to be heavily involved in the project,’ per The Athletic.

‘The conversation took a turn we were not comfortable with,’ the outlet also reported, of Belichick’s girlfriend being involved.

Since Sunday’s airing of the awkward CBS interview, a string of alarming revelations have come out about Hudson, including the ‘Hard Knocks’ news. It has also been claimed that she stormed out the interview, causing a 30-minute delay.

Also on an Instagram post which shows former New England Patriots star Julian Edelman sticking up for his old coach’s girlfriend by claiming she was merely acting how any PR person would, American comedian Nikki Glaser also defended Hudson in the comments.

‘100% this,’ Glaser wrote. ‘She’s acting as his publicist. Publicists do this during interviews. People are out for blood.’

But his daughter-in-law Amanda, who has been married to Belichick’s son Stephen for eight years, sH๏τ that down. She wrote back: ‘Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t “storm” off set delaying an interview.’

Three days after the interview aired, and more than four months into his tenure in Chapel Hill, Belichick issued a blistering statement, hitting at CBS.

‘I agreed to speak with CBS Sunday Morning to promote my new book,’ Belichick said. ‘Prior to this interview, I clearly communicated with my publicist at Simon & Schuster that any promotional interviews I participated in would agree to focus solely on the contents of the book. Unfortunately, that expectation was not honored during the interview.’

In the background, Belichick’s friends are said to be increasingly concerned at the control Hudson has over the eight-time Super Bowl winner, while North Carolina are said to be questioning if he is still the right man to be their football coach.

CBS responded to Belichick’s claims on Wednesday, rebuking some of what the gridiron legend claimed.

‘When we agreed to speak with Mr. Belichick, it was for a wife-raging interview,’ a spokesperson for CBS News stated. ‘There were no preconditions or limitations to this conversation. This was confirmed repeatedly with his publisher before the interview took place and after it was completed.’
