Travis Kelce has opened up on a ‘f***ing dumb’ tweet that resurfaced on Easter this year.

Back in 2010, a then-20-year-old Kelce, two years into his college career with Cincinnati, posted: ‘Happy Easter to all! Shoutout to Jesus for takin one for the team… haha’

The post spread around X last weekend, reaching over 800 reposts before it was ultimately deleted.

And in recalling the moment on his and his brother Jason’s New Heights podcast, Travis could hardly believe what he had written.

‘So ridiculous,’ he said. ‘My favorite part of it is the ‘Ha ha’ at the end.’

He continued: ‘Listen, I wanted to make sure everybody knew I was having a good time joking about this.’

Jason also offered a hilarious justification for his brother’s post, saying: ‘Listen. We don’t give Jesus enough shout-outs for taking one for the team if we’re all honest.’

‘He’s the the epitome of taking one for the team. He died for our sins,’ he continued.

‘He’s the best leader out there,’ Travis responded back.

The message picked up 832 reposts and nearly 4,000 likes, though much of that activity was recent after the old post went viral on Easter Sunday of 2025, a full 15 years after it was first shared.

On the April 23 episode of New Heights, fans also noticed that Travis was looking especially tanned while welcoming NFL Hall of Famer Joe Thomas onto the show.

That sparked speculation that Kelce was enjoying a well-deserved offseason vacation.

It wasn’t clear where Travis recorded this week’s show but the background was different from the usual setup he is surrounded by when he films during the NFL season from his Kansas City mansion.

Kelce and girlfriend Taylor Swift enjoyed a ski trip to Montana in the last few weeks but have only been spotted in New York once over the last couple of months. 

The 35-year-old тιԍнт end was recently in Florida, going through football drills with two high school players and posing for pictures with them afterwards.
