Celtics star Jayson Tatum’s mother threatened Boston’s first-round NBA playoff opponents, the Orlando Magic, after a hard foul on her son nearly left him with a severe injury.
Brandy Cole was in the TD Garden crowd when she witnessed Tatum go up to the rim in the early fourth quarter, only to be met by Wendell Carter Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
The trio collided, sending Tatum to the hardwood and the Team USA star landing on his wrist.
Tatum ended up being alright, as Boston won Sunday’s Game 1 comfortably 103-86 over Orlando. That did not stop Cole’s outrage.
‘You want me to go to the Orlando locker room?’ Cole said to Tatum, as he was headed into the Celtics’ dressing room.
Tatum smirked before heading into his team’s locker room after the win. The move to protect her son impressed Boston’s fan base, including arguably the team’s most notable supporter, Barstool CEO Dave Portnoy.

‘Love Tatum’s mother offering to beat up the Magic. We are officially into the annual Tatum playoff rite of pᴀssage. The entire world says Tatum sucks while Tatum and the Celtics beat the s*** outta everybody,’ Portnoy said.
The Celtics are the Eastern Conference’s No 2 seed a year after winning an NBA тιтle, where they dominated the Dallas Mavericks in the finals.
Tatum was Boston’s leader in points, rebounds, and ᴀssists on the way to a тιтle victory. That earned him a five-year contract extension last year, worth up to $314million, an NBA record.
Game 2 in the series is not until Wednesday, giving Tatum time to rest in case his wrist is not 100 percent.
Either way, Cole will be there to support her son, no matter how big of a star he is.
