Philadelphia Eagles hand Jason Kelce's replacement Cam Jurgens a bombshell $68m contract

Cam Jurgens, Jason Kelce’s replacement at center for the Philadelphia Eagles, has reached an agreement over a huge new $68million contract.

Jurgens was a vital part of Philly’s Super Bowl-winning team earlier this year, and he is now reaping the rewards of taking over from the legendary Kelce.

In his new four-year extension, he is guaranteed $39.4m, per Adam Schefter, and will be tied down by the team until the end of the 2029 season.

Jurgens, 25, was drafted by the Eagles out of Nebraska with the 51st pick of the 2022 Draft, and had to wait his turn behind Kelce, who was the starter in Philadelphia for 13 years.

After Kelce’s emotional retirement ahead of the 2024 season, Jurgens took his place as a starter, and helped the Eagles go all the way to the Super Bowl, where they beat the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.

He also earned Pro Bowl honors in his first year as a starter, and has now been rewarded by becoming the second highest-paid center in the NFL, behind only Creed Humphrey of the Chiefs.

The move is just the latest by the Eagles front office in ensuring their offensive line is strong, with a series of huge-money deals handed out in the last 12 months.

Before Jurgens’ $68m contract, Jordan Mailata signed a three-year, $66m deal, Landon Dickerson agreed terms on a four-year, $84m contract, and Lane Johnson will pick up $25m on an improved one-year contract for 2025.

Jurgens will also be able to use his impressive new bank balance to boost his personal business – selling beef jerky.

Before he had even arrived in the NFL, Jurgens – who has the Instagram handle @beef_jurgy – was building his brand, called ‘Beef Jurgy Jerky, even handing it out to coaches at the NFL Combine in the hope of securing a contract.

It seems Nick Sirianni and owner Jeffrey Lurie must have been fans.

This summer, Jurgens has been enjoying his offseason alongside girlfriend Margaret, with the pair recently traveling to Rome with friends.

In a series of images posted to Margaret’s Instagram, the group posed in front of the Coliseum, went to a cooking class, and enjoyed a day of wine tasting.
