Cam Ward drops major NFL Draft hint with curious тιтans response

The buzz of Cam Ward going No. 1 overall to the тιтans has been building for months, and this week the Miami quarterback all but said the quiet part out loud as the 2025 NFL Draft nears.

When asked during a “Fortnite” live stream who he considers the premier running backs in the league, the top quarterback prospect of this year’s class looked to Tennessee’s roster.

“I would say … Tony Pollard, [Tyjae] Spears,” Ward said in a clip currently floating around on X.

Pollard is entering his second season with the тιтans after agreeing to a three-year deal in free agency last March. The ex-Cowboys running back rushed for 1,079 yards and five touchdowns in 2024.

Meanwhile, Spears ran for 312 yards and four scores. He was the тιтans’ third-round pick in 2023.

Ward added more fuel to the fire when he named тιтans wideouts Calvin Ridley and Treylon Burks as two of his top receivers in the NFL.

While Ridley tallied 64 catches for 1,017 yards and four touchdowns last season in his first year with the Tennessee, Burks had four receptions for 34 yards.

While those players are surely talented, few would put them above the Saquon Barkleys and Justin Jeffersons of the NFL world.

The тιтans have long been projected to take Ward, 22, with the top pick in next week’s NFL draft.

The club has hardly kept its adoration for Ward a secret, scheduling a private workout with the 6-foot-2 prospect after attending his Pro Day in March.

Although trade options for the top pick were reported to be “on the table” in February, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last month, “It now would take an even stronger package to acquire the draft’s top selection.”

A separate clue about the тιтans’ presumed plans dropped in early April when they canceled a private workout with fellow quarterback prospect Shedeur Sanders.

The тιтans are desperately seeking a steady hand at the quarterback position after years of shaky play from Ryan Tannehill, Malik Willis and, most recently, Will Levis, Tennessee’s second-round pick in 2023.

Tennessee is coming off a 3-14 season that saw Levis commit costly blunders before being benched for longtime Steelers backup Mason Rudolph.

Ward, who played his final collegiate season at Miami, is the leader of the QB pack in this year’s class.

He threw for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions last season, while completing 67.2 percent of his pᴀsses.

Ward will be in Green Bay next Thursday when the 2025 NFL Draft gets underway.
