Dak Prescott and Jayden Daniels lead tributes to Kyren Lacy following the death of NFL Draft prospect at 24

The NFL duo of Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and Cowboys star Dak Prescott have led the tributes to Kyren Lacy, an NFL Draft prospect who died on Saturday night at age 24.

Lacy has reportedly taken his own life at the age of 24 – days before he was due in court accused of negligent homicide.

Lacy was considered one of the top prospects coming out of college football ahead of the 2025 NFL draft.

But shocking reports emerged on Sunday that he had died. According to WBRZ, the cause of death was suicide.

Daniels posted around a dozen pH๏τos and videos to his Instagram story paying tribute to Lacy.

Lacy and Daniels played together for the Tigers for two seasons, with the duo constantly linking up on offense.

‘Till next time brudda… we gonna hold it down for u. U gon live yo dreams through us … hope you at peace now,’ one of Daniels’ pH๏τos on his story was captioned.

Prescott put on his Instagram story a pH๏τo of tape wrapped around his wrist from a game that says ‘Ask 4 help’.

Please!!! Ask 4 Help. It doesn’t have to end that way! It takes all of US!’ Prescott captioned the pH๏τo.

Fellow LSU alumnus and former NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. posted on Instagram ‘Rest easy lil bro’ alongside a dove emoji. The next story from Beckham was a picture of the two.

Daniels’ mom, Regina Jackson, reposted the video of Daniels and Malik Nabers FaceTimeing with Lacy just after being drafted.

‘This surprise was the best! Forever friends. Why Kyren!!’ Jackson captioned the video.

Lacy was arrested on January 13 after a warrant was issued by local police over a December 17 car crash that killed a 78-year-old Louisiana man.

Lacy was accused of driving recklessly – speeding and pᴀssing in a no-pᴀssing zone – when a motorist, who was swerving to avoid Lacy’s Dodge Charger, crashed head-on into another vehicle. He was also alleged to have fled the scene.

Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, hit-and-run driving with serious injury or death and reckless operation with accident. He was released on $151,000 bond and back in February, amid the ongoing legal problems, Lacy broke his silence on social media writing to write: ‘Trust the process!!’

Just 18 days ago – on March 26 – the wide receiver took part in the LSU pro day, when he showed off his ability in front of NFL scouts.

Lacy was criticized for declaring for the NFL Draft just two days after the fatal crash.

Thibodaux, Louisiana native Hall was a pᴀssenger in a Kia Sorento that was involved in the collision and later died from his injuries at the hospital, according to state police. Drivers of the Sorento and another vehicle also sustained injuries.
