Drew Lock returning to Seahawks for second stint after rough Giants tenure

Drew Lock is back in the Pacific Northwest.

The 28-year-old quarterback is signing with the Seahawks for a second stint in Seattle, according to multiple reports on Friday.

The terms of the deal were not immediately clear.

Lock played one season with the Seahawks in 2023-24 before spending last year with the Giants.

He’ll likely be in a backup role to Sam Darnold, who signed a three-year deal worth $100.5 million with the Seahawks this offseason.

Sam Howell will likely compete with Lock for that backup job.

In Lock’s previous season with the Seahawks, he played in four games — with two starts — and threw for 543 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.

He signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Giants last year and struggled mightily in limited action.

Despite being ahead of third-stringer Tommy DeVito on the depth chart, DeVito got the first crack at taking over as starter after the Giants cut Daniel Jones midseason.

But a DeVito injury led to Lock starting five games and appearing in eight, recording 1,071 pᴀssing yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions.

And, amid a 10-game losing streak, Lock delivered one of his best-ever performances in a 45-33 win over the Colts in Week 16, completing 17 of 23 pᴀsses for 309 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

As a result, the win knocked the Giants out of the slot for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft down to No. 3.

In free agency, the Giants have brought in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston to boost the quarterback room.
