‘Sickening’ Pennsylvania Mayor blasted by locals for being a Cowboys fan

'Sickening' Pennsylvania Mayor blasted by locals for being a Cowboys fan

A Pennsylvania mayor got slammed by one of his city’s residents for backing the Dallas Cowboys in Eagles territory.

Ed Brown has served as the mayor of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania since January 2024. Brown, a Democrat, defeated Republican Brian Burke to become the city’s first-ever black mayor.

With a population of just over 85,000, Upper Darby Township is roughly nine miles east of Philadelphia.

In the wake of their Super Bowl victory in February, an Eagles fan took the podium and ripped Brown for supporting their rivals during a town meeting.

‘This is what happens, guys — residents of Upper Darby Township — when you elect a Cowboys fan to your government. 29 years of losing with this team. What do you expect with the leadership?

‘This is a Cowboys fan. This guy follows the Cowboys. You see what type of leadership they have and that’s what you put your trust in. A Cowboys fan, sickening,’ the resident added.

There is nothing funnier than a citizen calling out the incompetence of your Mayor during a council meeting by saying he is a Cowboys fan. #Delco #UpperDarby #GoBirds @CBKylePagan @CrossingBroad pic.twitter.com/rY1WWOvjfR

According to the Upper Darby website, Brown has been living in the township for 28 years.

While the Cowboys saw their glory days in the 1990s with three Super Bowls in four years, they’ve had a tough route since winning in 1995. Jerry Jones’ team has won five playoff games in the past 29 years.

Additionally, America’s team has not played in the NFC тιтle game since 1995, which became the longest drought when the Washington Commanders reached the game in January before losing to Philadelphia.

While the Birds marched their way toward dethroning the Kansas City Chiefs, the Cowboys suffered a 7-10 season and missed the playoffs for the first time in three years after an injury-marred season.
