How Giants can get Travis Hunter AND Shedeur Sanders in 2025 NFL Draft: expert

Welcome to New York, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders?

It’s not out of the realm of possibility, according to ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr., who recently speculated how the Giants can land both Colorado Buffaloes prospects after looking at colleague Field Yates’ latest NFL mock draft, which projected Big Blue selecting quarterback Sanders at No. 3 overall.

“I’m looking at maybe the best player on their board — it’s best player on my board — is [wide receiver/cornerback] Travis Hunter,” Kiper said, as covered by On3 Sports Wednesday. “He’s there, you’re picking three. Shedeur Sanders is five on my board. So you’ve got the No. 1 player, you pᴀss on, take the No. 5 player just because he’s a quarterback? Maybe not.”

Kiper then illustrated how the Giants could make a move for Sanders, one of the most polarizing prospects in this year’s draft class.

“How about this scenario? You get Travis Hunter at three. Shedeur Sanders drops, you can trade back into the first round and get Shedeur Sanders. Then, you’ve got Hunter and Sanders if you’re the Giants. That’s a scenario possibly could take place. In Field’s Mock Draft 4.0, he’s got Shedeur at No. 3 to the Giants. I would have no problem with that,” Kiper said.

There has been much debate about what the Giants will do with the third pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after acquiring veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston last month.

Miami quarterback Cam Ward is projected to go to Tennessee at No. 1 overall, while the Browns — also starved for a signal caller — have been linked to Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter at No. 2.

That leaves the Giants, who could take Sanders, 23, if he’s viewed as the quarterback of the future, or Hunter, the Heisman Trophy-winning two-way star viewed primarily as a cornerback by the club.

And, if the NFC East basement dwellers have enough conviction to draft both, perhaps Hunter and Sanders start their professional careers on the same sideline once again, as Kiper floated.

However, for the Giants to theoretically hop back into the first round, a package of picks is expected to be on the table as they’re not on the clock again until the second round at No. 34. The team owns a total of eight picks in this year’s draft, including two in the third round at No. 65 and No. 99.

The Post’s Paul Schwartz projects Hunter, 21, to the Giants at No. 3 overall in his mock draft 1.0.

The first round of the NFL draft gets underway from Green Bay on Thursday, April 24.
