The man, currently serving a prison sentence, has been linked to the case numerous times in the past, and his previous location is near the site where the three-year-old girl disappeared in 2007. Meanwhile, according to the Daily Mirror, new, potentially groundbreaking discoveries were made during the renewed search in Portugal in 2025. A buried firearm, pieces of clothing, and bones were found in the area. All of this material was secured and sent for detailed laboratory analysis. Although the exact type of weapon recovered has not been revealed, its presence may be relevant to the ongoing investigation. Initial analyses indicate that the bones likely belong to an animal, but some fragments require further examination . The searches are being conducted in an area linked to Bruckner, which may indicate new information coming to law enforcement.

On the 17th anniversary of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance, her parents, Gerry and Kate , published a moving statement on the “Find Madeleine” website. They shared the emotions they have endured all these years, emphasizing how difficult each day is for them . “While we are fortunate in many ways and can now lead relatively normal lives, this ‘life in limbo’ is still very unsettling. And [Madeleine’s absence – ed.] still hurts,” they wrote. They concluded by thanking everyone who has supported them over the years: “Your support continues to encourage us and strengthens our strength to move on,” they said.
