NFL quarterback announces he's engaged in emotional Instagram post

New England Patriots quarterback Joshua Dobbs proposed to his girlfriend Jocelyn Lara and wrote an emotional post for his partner of three and a half years.

Eleven days after securing a deal with the New England Patriots, Dobbs secured a life commitment with Lara, a Chelsea, Mᴀssachusetts native.

The pair shared pictures from Dobbs’ romantic proposal at the Boston Harbor on Friday. Dobbs popped the question on a dock lined up with candles and white petals in front of a giant white hears with the words ‘Will you marry me’ in the middle.

‘To my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the most special person in my life, I’m excited to spend forever with you,’ Dobbs wrote in a joint post. ‘Cheers to the Dobbs!’

The pair first made their relationship public with an Instagram picture in December 2021. Both attended the University of Tennessee and were both immersed in campus life.

Lara graduated from the university with a degree in supply chain and marketing.
