Footage of supermodel Tyra Banks has gone viral on social media as she appeared to be sitting uncomfortably between two ‘furries’ at the Knicks-Nets rivalry game this week. 

Sitting courtside, Banks – a U.S. television personality, producer, writer, and actress – had her eyes wide open when both anthropomorphic animal characters joined her to watch Tuesday night’s game – a 108-103 win for the Knicks – at Barclay’s Center. 

The term ‘furries,’ which derives from ‘furry fandom,’ is used to describe enthusiasts for animal characters with human characteristics, in particular a person who dresses up in costume as such a character or uses one as an avatar online.

Banks was later shown on the arena’s jumbotron, covering her eyes with her hands as the two furries leaned over her to cuddle. 

It is possible that a stunt was pulled on the former Victoria’s Secret Angel, but that remains to be clarified.

Banks, a California native, is a former Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1997 to 2005. She is now 52

Comedian and host of Subway Takes – Kareem Rahma – also shared footage of Banks looking awkward at the game, although she appeared to have been initially chatty and friendly towards the furries. 

She even bumped to music with them, at one point. 

However, as both furries kept getting in Banks’ way to caress each other throughout the game, the California native appeared genuinely uncomfortable, even seemingly asking them to stop and trying to raise her concerns to staff. 

The furries were later escorted out by security, according to Kareem. 

Banks has yet to open up on her experience at Barclay’s Center on Tuesday.
